A soldier and a police officer have been k!lled, while scores of residents were abducted when bandits attacked Kasuwar Daji District in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Residents said the attackers invaded the community at about 1:40am on Sunday, August 2, 2026, firing indiscriminately and moving from house to house in search of specific individuals whose names and residences they allegedly A resident, Inuwa Giranto, said the attackers overwhelmed security personnel despite efforts by soldiers, police operatives and local vigilantes to repel the assault. According to him, the officer in charge of the military base called for reinforcements as the bandits retreated into a nearby forest with an unspecified number of abducted residents. It was like the end of the world. Women and children were screaming for help while livestock scattered in panic.
