Police arrest suspect for st@bbing 25-year-old man to d3ath in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspect for allegedly st@bbing a 25-year-old man to d3ath in Bauchi metropolis.  The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 said efforts are underway to apprehend an accomplice who remains at large. Habib said the incident was reported at about 4:30 p.m. on July 25 by Muhammad Danazumi Tanko of Unguwan Kur Area. According to the PPRO, the victim, Zahradeen Danazumi Tanko, was allegedly attacked by two suspects identified as Alamin Hamisu Gidado, 21, and Yahaya Muazu, 20, both of Ali Garu Area. The suspects allegedly conspired and st@bbed the victim in the back with a sharp object, inflicting severe injuries. Upon receiving the report, a police patrol team rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), where he was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor. The body was deposited at the hospital mortuary for an autopsy, while detectives documented the scene as part of the investigation. On 25th July 2026 at about 1528hrs, a report was received at 'D' Division Dutsen Tanshi from a 45 years old man, of Unguwan Kur Area, Bauchi," the statement read. He reported that one Al-Amin Hamisu Gidado, male, 21 years, of Ali Garu Area, Bauchi, in criminal conspiracy with one Yahaya Mu'azu, male, 20 years, of the same address and now at large, stabbed one Zahradeen Dan'Azumi Tanko, male, 25 years, of Unguwan Kur Area, Bauchi, on his back. "The victim sustained multiple injuries and was immediately rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, for medical attention. Unfortunately, the medical doctor on duty confirmed him dead on arrival.   "The principal suspect, Al-Amin Hamisu Gidado, was arrested and is currently in custody.  Investigation has been concluded at preliminary stage and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCIID, Bauchi, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
