Airport police command arrests 17-year-old over alleged sexu@l ass@ult on a 14-year-old

The Airport Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old male suspect, Benjamin Daniel, in connection with the sexu@l ass@ult of a 14-year-old girl at Sabo Masalashi area, Bassa, Abuja, on August 15. A statement from the command's spokesperson, ASP Mohammed Adeola, says the incident was reported by the victims mother at the Abuja Airport Police Division.  According to the report, the suspect, who resides in Angua Mandala, allegedly lured the victim into his room under the pretext of purchasing some of the soya bean cake she was selling, where he sexu@lly assaulted her. Upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Abuja Airport Police Division, immediately facilitated her prompt medical attention, and mobilised personnel to locate and arrest the suspect. ASP Adeola mentioned that the suspect was subsequently arrested and remains in police custody as investigation continues.  She added that that the suspect's statement was obtained in the presence of his mother, in accordance with applicable procedures for handling juvenile suspects.  The Command also ensured that appropriate measures are being taken to safeguard the welfare and wellbeing of the victim, while the suspect will be brought before a juvenile court of competent jurisdiction upon conclusion of investigation.  The post Airport police command arrests 17-year-old over alleged sexu@l ass@ult on a 14-year-old appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
